Why do stars twinkle?

The light of stars travels through the many layers of Earth's atmosphere before it reaches our eyes. Along the way, the light rays bump into lots of things and they are refracted or bent. The crooked path these light rays take makes it look to our eyes as if the stars are twinkling. If we looked at stars from outer space, where the light rays we see are not traveling through Earth's atmosphere, the stars would not twinkle.

ၾကယ္ေလးေတြရဲ႕အလင္းေရာင္သည္ ကြၽႏု္ပ္တို႕ရဲ႕မ်က္လံုးမ်ားဆီမေရာက္မီ ကမၻာ့အာကာသေလထု၏ အလႊာေပါင္းမ်ားစြာကို ျဖတ္သန္းလာခဲ့ၾကရပါသည္။ ထိုသို႕ျဖတ္သန္းရာ လမ္းေၾကာင္းတစ္ေလွ်ာက္တြင္ အလင္းေရာင္ျခည္တန္းမ်ားစြာေသာအရာ၀တၳဳမ်ားထဲသို႕ ၀င္ေရာက္တိုက္မိ ေဆာင့္မိသည္။ အဲဒီေတာ့ ၎တို႕၏ေရာင္ျခည္သည္ အလင္းယိုင္သြားသည္။ ထိုေကာက္ေကြ႕ ယိမ္းယိုင္သြားေသာ အလင္းတန္းမ်ားကို ကြၽႏု္ပ္တို႕မ်က္စိအျမင္တြင္ ၾကယ္ေလးမ်ား မွိတ္တုတ္မွိတ္တုတ္ လင္းလက္ေနသည္ဟု ထင္ရျခင္းျဖစ္သည္။ အကယ္၍ ကြၽႏု္ပ္တို႕သာ အာကာသဟင္းလင္းျပင္မွ ၾကယ္မ်ားကိုၾကည့္မည္ဆိုလွ်င္ အလင္းေရာင္ျခည္တန္း မ်ားသည္ ကမၻာ့အာကာသေလထုကို ျဖတ္သန္းမသြား၍ အလင္းမယိုင္ျခင္းေသာေၾကာင့္ ၾကယ္ေလးမ်ားသည္ မွိတ္တုတ္မွိတ္တုတ္ျဖစ္မွာ မဟုတ္ပါ။
